PHILOSOPHY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION:Our philosophy in McKillop Physical Education is to provide activities which allow opportunities to engage in physical activities necessary to support a healthy mind and body. Social skills such as respect, cooperation, communication, teamwork and sportsmanship are an important aspect of the physical education curriculum and will be taught in this setting. Through exposure to a wide variety of activities, students will gain the necessary knowledge to understand the importance of and make educated decisions around opportunities to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Dear Parents,
I am excited about our new school year at McKillop Elementary. As this year begins, I would like to remind you about the importance of your child’s physical activity education. We plan to give your students the tools they need to lead an active lifestyle. Along with reinforcement at home our PE class can help develop the habit of being physically active.
In addition, you can expect us to always:
Establish a positive, safe learning environment for all students
Teach a variety of physical activities that make physical education class fun and enjoyable
Promote student honesty, integrity and good sportsmanship
Create maximum opportunities for students of all abilities to be successful
Provide specific, constructive feedback to help students master motor skills
Prepare and encourage students to practice skills and be active for a lifetime
By enhancing your children’s physical activity education, I am certain we will be able to help your children enjoy a lifetime of physical activity and good health. I welcome your support!
One reminder in order to help us create a safe learning environment please help your students remember to wear tennis shoes and proper attire on their PE days.
We look forward to working with your students,
